Are you wondering how to improve yourself everyday? You know that you could be happier and more productive, but not sure how to do it? Want to make big improvements and have less daily frustration? If so here are the secrets to creating routines and getting better at everything you do.
Simple Ways to Improve Your Day!
Have you ever had a day when you woke up, worked out, ate a healthy breakfast and prepared everything you needed to take with you for the day? Surprising yourself with productivity and being ready to go in less time than usual? Don’t you wish that was everyday?! The other day, I got up, knowing that I had limited time for my workout routine. It put me in the right state of mind to get right into it. I realized later that I had picked out the routine I would do the night before and I had it all queued up in my workout app. So it was automatic since I had thought it through before going to sleep.
If you are like me, you might think having a morning or evening routine is boring and gets in the way of being spontaneous and fun. But, when I was able to get so much done that day, it made me realize how much more I could accomplish with a routine. They give us the freedom and time to do the things we want to do. If every time we do something, we reinvent the process, it is going to take for-ever to get things done! I’m definitely guilty of doing this. I’m ready to turn over a new leaf!
Improving your Lifestyle with Routines
Here’s how it gets easy. Think of the areas of life and things you do on a regular basis. What could you create a routine for? The good news is there are posts in this blog with all kinds of routines predesigned for you. We already talked about morning and evening routines and how beneficial they are. How about putting together a tray of all the products you use at night so that they are right on your night stand. Especially hand cream to wear overnight to combat the dryness we have from lots of handwashing and sanitizer. Find all the tips to get your routines set for your Morning Routine for Before Work & to Perfect your Night Time Routine.
Creating Routines is Simple!
When you have routines ready to go, you can do everything from cleaning to putting on your makeup much simpler. You can create routines for getting more done at work or working from home. The first step is to decide the goal of the routine, then list the steps and see if any can be eliminated or done better. Then decide the order of the steps and anything that will motivate you through the task. Here’s a planning sheet for your next routine!
Use the sheet to create your next routine, say it’s for something like applying self tanner. On the left you could list, gathering supplies like a damp wash cloth to clean hands, some cream to block nails from staining, a mitt or glove and the self tanner itself, maybe a fan too. Then list the step of applying the tanner, smoothing lotion over ankles and knees to blend. (If necessary) Then cleaning hands and letting it dry under the fan. This is one routine where the gathering supplies is the most important step, but if it’s a routine, you won’t need to worry about forgetting the washcloth before you start.
Planning Resources
That’s just one example, I use a routine for writing a blog post so that I have all the steps in place when I go to publish. You probably already use routines in your work too and we could add more to increase our productivity. The Routine builder will be in the resource library. There are other sheets to help with goal setting as well! Receive access to all the resources when you subscribe to the email list!
